So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some helpful hints:
Clean wall and make sure it is dried out. For recentlycolored walls let paint "cure" for 10 to 15 days prior to applying decals. Even if new paint seems dry, it may nevertheless need to settle and thoroughlycure. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not suggested on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very uneven and porous surfaces, wallpaper or delicate surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to apply onto tile provided that the surface is thoroughly clean and completelyfree of moisture during installation. Be certain the design element does not cover grout region as water could possiblyfilter under and compromise the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, as long as they are placedtightly onto the surface so wateris unable toget under the decal. Once applied, RoomMates should notmove even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals can't be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they should not be positioned on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may stick to the adhesive and damage the merchandise. Also, do notput at the base or inside the tub. Water could seepunder the design element too easily and would compromise the adhesive. When putting on, make sure you start from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the rest of the element separate from the wall/surface. Gradually go down over the design with your hand and smooth the element onto area (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once applied you should be able to move any leftover bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the element. If the difficultypersists (this would onlyoccur with the giant decals), you can punch a tiny (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to push the air out.
In all, it will always bebest to test wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface is uneven, operation could be seriouslyreduced. Make sure surface is thoroughly clean of dust and dirt or you may damage the adhesive and wreck the merchandise. |
