Old personal computers which comes with old Window programs are probably slower. Yet, doesnt mean you must check the new computer models in your area.
While not everyone would agree, old personal computer programs are easier to use. Its convenience is because of its simplicity. Its ordinary for old personal computers to be a little bit slow. But then again if your personal computer is taking more than 15 minutes to boot up and 10 minutes loading basic applications then something is wrong with your PC. Do the listed speed up Windows guidelines:
> Remove worthless applications. Your PC may be keeping applications that havent been used for years. Scan the programs listed in the add/remove programs menu in the control panel. Remove the applications you have not used for some time. Freeing up disk space will no doubt speed up your windows program.
> Update drivers. Hardware drivers eat up few space but they dictate on how fast your Windows accessories will be. Many improvement have been done on hardware over time. Check Online and look for updates for them. This tip always speed up Windows 2000 and ME.
> Remove the Starting Windows message. Windows 95 and 98 has this particular starting
windows message that prolongs personal computer booting. Delete this option to speed up Windows 98. Select to C:\ and search for Msdos.sys, right click on it and deselect the read-only option. Open the file in Notepad, select over to text Options within the file. Add: Add BootDelay-0. You may choose to make your booting|want to change your PC booting speedier by setting add Logo=0 to get rid of the Windows logo during start-up.
> Optimize start menu. Speed up Windows by having instant access to your start menu. Select on Start and go to Run. Type Regedit in the bar and press Enter. Open the Registry editor folder named HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop. If there is a MenuShowDelay, double click it and alter the value of data field to 0. This will load Start program without any delay at all.
